Annapoorna - World of Food India, to be staged by Koelnmesse and FICCI, is already taking shape. This trade fair for the food and drinks sector will be making its debut in Mumbai, India, from 1st to 3rdNovember 2006. The show will be held alongside International FoodService India which will cover all equipments and services for Retailing, Inflight-, Rail-, Ship-, Hotel- and Event-Catering.
After the successful launch of World of Food India 2004 in Hyderabad Koelnmesse joint hands with FICCI to organize the next edition as partner. As a result of this joint venture World of Food India was re-named to “Annapoorna – World of Food India”.
The trade fair duo will occupy 8,000 m˛ of exhibition space in Hall 1 of the Bombay Exhibition grounds NSE in Mumbai. Since the Indian market was opened up, the country has become one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. Imports of food and drinks, for example, more than doubled between 1999 and 2005, and further increases are predicted in the coming years. The Indian food industry is also posting growth in terms of production volume and exports.
Conditions are therefore ideal for a duo of food fairs which will be supplemented by a sophisticated conference and seminar program. As a spin-off of Anuga, Annapoorna - World of Food India will also benefit from the international network of the world’s largest food and drink fair. “That’s an advantage that we intend to exploit to the full,” states Wolfgang Kranz, Executive Vice President of Koelnmesse.
Together with local partners, Koelnmesse has been successfully staging Thaifex - World of Food Asia in Bangkok since 2004. The company also organizes food fairs for the Chinese market.
Annapoorna - World of Food India 2006: Mumbai, 1st to 3rd Nov. 2006 Producers and importers will exhibit the entire spectrum of food, drinks and raw materials at Annapoorna - World of Food India. The organisers expect to attract a large number of international exhibitors in addition to Indian suppliers. Currently 9 countries have announced group participations, among them are Australia, China, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia, Netherlands, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand and some more. The fair will address trade visitors from the specialist trade and import, the hotel and catering sector, the travel and tourism sector, and the food and packaging industry.
